Choza, meaning "hut" or "shack" in Spanish, may seem modest, but behind its doors you'll find incredible scratch-made cuisine, artfully crafted cocktails, and warm hospitality. Choza is helmed by Chef Jorge Hernandez, who brings over two decades of culinary experience to craft fresh, colorful Mexican dishes. Chef Jorge's passion for Mexican cooking began at a young age alongside his grandmother and mother. After immigrating to the U.S. in 1995, he refined his skills working in top San Francisco restaurants before realizing his dream of opening his own cantina. At Choza, Chef Jorge prepares family recipes brimming with complex flavors. From tasty tacos stuffed with carne asada, carnitas, or beer-battered fish, to burritos smothered in signature mole sauce, every dish exhibits Chef Jorge's talent and dedication. Fresh, hand-pressed tortillas are made daily on-site.
